Job Summary
Students hired in these positions tutor children (from Preschool through 9th grade) in reading and/or math. Tutors currently provide in-person and remote/virtual support. Locations include the ISU campus, local schools, after-school programs, public libraries, and community centers.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Attending mandatory/paid training sessions
- Providing program data by posting “reflections” every two weeks based on placements
- Writing optional lesson plans, and progress reports, or creating videos
- Submitting Exit Plans if providing 1:1 support

Pay Rate
$15.25/hour-$17.25/hour
Required Qualifications
- Applicants MUST be awarded Federal Work Study.
- Ability to provide your own transportation for off-campus sites (this includes public transportation).
- Must be dependable.
- Applicants must have and maintain a GPA of 2.5.
- Experience working with children and/or tutoring is required.
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
- Applicants must be strong or fluent Spanish speakers and/or possess the skills to tutor children in math from 4th - 9th grade.
Work Hours
Must be available to work a minimum of 4-6 hours per week during the hours of 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 1-3 hours on Saturdays between 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Placements are made according to tutor availability.
