Job Summary
Illinois State University, a NCAA Division I institution, member of the Missouri Valley Conference invites applications for the position of Graduate Assistant for Redbird Creative social media within the department of Athletics. This pre-professional, 12-month position includes a tuition waiver and a stipend. The successful applicant must meet the admission requirements for Illinois State's Graduate School.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the development and execution of social media strategies across various platforms, including but not limited to Instagram, X, Facebook and TikTok.
2. Manage assigned sport accounts & other department affiliated accounts.
3. Capture high-quality photographs during athletic events, practices and behind-the-scenes moments to engage fans and promote Illinois State Athletics.
4. Utilize Slate and Influencer platforms.
5. Monitor social media trends and analytics to optimize content performance and audience engagement.
6. Collaborate with all external units within Illinois State Athletics to maintain brand consistency and support promotional campaigns.
7. Assist in managing social media calendars and scheduling content.
8. Other duties as assigned to support the communications and marketing goals of Illinois State Athletics.
Salary Rate / Pay Rate
$2025/Month
Required Qualifications
1. Eligible for appointment as per the requirements in the Graduate Assistant Handbook which can be found at http://hr.illinoisstate.edu/downloads/GA_Handbook.pdf
2. Must be a degree-seeking graduate student at Illinois State University in Psychology of Sport & Physical Activity, Recreation Administration, Sport Management, Communication, or MBA.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Experience working in an Intercollegiate Athletics Department
2. Experience assisting with social media strategy for multiple platforms
3. Experience taking and editing photos
